For Halloween this year, we wanted to style a vignette in our showroom by using everyday items we already had access to. Halloween comes up so quickly, it’s hard to find time to decorate for this short holiday! It’s all about being creative and repurposing things around your house that don’t necessarily scream Halloween on their own. We started by choosing accessories in a traditional Halloween color palette: orange, black and white. From there we browsed for pieces that had antique and vintage characteristics hoping they would read as aged and spooky when placed in the vignette. With a bit of imagination we recreated these year-round home accessories into their mysterious Halloween alter egos.
We browsed through our showroom and found items that didn’t scream Halloween standing alone, but once we paired them up the overall vibe started to come together. Here are some props we used that you can find in your own home!
- Decorative bone beads
- Glass jugs
- Old books
- Table runners
- Candles and candlesticks
- Bins, baskets, and trunks
- Vintage glass bottles
- Yarn wrapped spools
- Towels + throws
- Antique, distressed or vintage finishes
- Fabric scraps
Exterior + Outdoor Entertaining
It’s the last reveal of our Project Bel Air! We wanted to share all of the outdoor spaces so you could get a better feel for the layout of the home. The large floor to ceiling windows help blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living, creating an open space to entertain and hang out with family. Check out the rest of the home here: entry + sunken living room | kitchen + dining room + living room | loft + guest bedrooms | master bedroom + office
Master Bedroom + Office
It’s time for the master bedroom and bathroom reveal! From the start, we knew we wanted to do something unique and eye catching in the master bedroom because you can easily see it from the first level. We fell in love with this chevron hardwood wall covering and decided to use it as a backdrop against this chunky brass bed.
We found this incredible vintage moroccan rug and used it as our source of inspiration when designing the office. We wanted the office to feel sophisticated so we used rich saturated tones to create a moody, masculine look.
Guest Bedroom + Bunk Room + Loft
We’ve on to the third reveal of our Bel Air project! Today we’re sharing the guest bedroom, loft and bunk room. You can see the entry and living room here and the kitchen, dining room and family room here. One of our favorite things about the bunk room is that we used queen size beds! Check back for more on Thursday, we will be sharing the master bedroom and bathroom! Photography by Tessa Neustadt.
Dining Room + Family Room + Kitchen
It’s time for our the next reveal of our Project Bel Air! We’ve been working on this project for well over a a year, you can see where we started here and the first reveal here. Today we’re sharing the dining room, family room and kitchen.
When we started designing this home our clients had a clear vision in mind, to have a modern yet timeless and traditional aesthetic. They didn’t want the home to feel too cold or contemporary, they wanted something that was family friendly yet sophisticated and out of the box.
If we had to choose our favorite room, it would definitely be the dining room! We selected these pendant lights and hung them at varying lengths to give depth to the space. The rugs in this house are incredible, the dining room rug grounds the room while layering in bold contrast that plays well with the Central Park artwork.

Entry + Sunken Living Room
We are so excited to finally share our Bel Air project! We worked with Corr Contemporary Homes and Wolf Design Studio on this new build. Our clients moved from New York to Bel Air, and hired us to help build their dream home from the ground up. They purchased a lot with panoramic views from the ocean to downtown Los Angeles. There was an existing property on the lot, we tore it down and rebuilt this 6,200 square foot sleek and modern home. The goal for the design was to create cohesive spaces that were luxurious yet livable. We incorporated the couples well traveled spirit with their passion for beautiful and unique design.
There are too many details to share with this project, so we’re breaking it up into several posts that we will share on the blog throughout this week and next. First up, the entry and sunken living room. One of the things we loved most about this project was being able to incorporate the couples collection of artwork, antiques and treasured heirlooms they had gathered from traveling around the world. Check back later this week for our next reveal of the dining room, family room and kitchen!

We are so excited to share that we are taking part in the Lido House Hotel Project, a stylish coastal retreat located in the original heart of Newport Beach. Led by Bob Olson of R.D. Olson Development, the four story, 130 room boutique hotel is under construction at the old city hall site, 3300 Newport Boulevard.
There will be five luxury residential-style cottages designed by local Newport Beach designers, and this is where we come in! The design process for our cottage is already underway… We were selected as one of the design firms and we’ve already started the design process for one of the cottages. We feel so fortunate to be involved, it’s such a cool concept and a great way to bring together the community of Newport Beach. Stay tuned for progress pictures and updates along the way!
We attended the ground breaking ceremony on June 30th which signifies the first physical step towards completing this hotel by Summer 2017! Below you can take a peek at the layout of the new property, including the location of the cottage we are designing.
